I just realized that it's been more than a month since I last blog about music.
This is mainly due to a hell of a hectic schedule I have at work. But finally, things are easing off a bit and I finally have more time for myself.
And it so happen that I am free at this time of the year, when it is the first anniversary of our Liverpool experience last year. And the saddest thing is, we miss Liverpool so much that it literally hurts!
I do my best so that I can relive certain moments in Liverpool, but seriously it is hard. One of the best I can do is to put on my headphones, blast the music and close my eyes as I listen to songs that accompanied me down the streets of Liverpool.
As I am writing this, the next batch of students are already exploring Liverpool - the streets, the Tesco and their room in Atlantic Point.
Oh God, the thoughts of those memories really sear my heart! I want to go back there so bad it hurts!!
I don't know why that despite the pain I feel thinking about Liverpool, I still want to think about it! I still want to hold on to that moment of my life. So today, I shall introduce one song that reminds me a lot of Liverpool.
Matt Wertz's "Even the Streets".
Even its title aptly describes one thing that I misses most about Liverpool, the streets!
Then the lyrics sing about how one is missing something, just like how I'm missing Liverpool so bad right now. Enjoy this song...while I continue to picture myself in Liverpool....
To be fair, this is actually York, not Liverpool
But then I think this picture is darn beautiful and exemplifies the beauty of the streets in the UK
I tried leaving you at home
But every thought returns to you
My head it seems to roam
No matter what I do
You know it's late right now
And every song sings of us
I guess these singers know somehow
And my life they must discuss
But I left the pictures of you behind
Because I didn't want to dwell on you
But even the streets speak your name out here
And last night's movie too
The mountains now in the rearview
As the tired road creeps on and on and on
Perhaps I'll leave you in colorado
With this monday morning fog
But the pictures await me back home
And there the streets whisper, whisper your name
Escape it seems impossible sometimes
And I'm the one to blame
But I left the pictures of you behind
Because I didn't want to dwell on you
But even the streets speak your name out here
And last night's movie too
I tried leaving you behind
But you wouldn't stay
Thank God you didn't
But every thought returns to you
My head it seems to roam
No matter what I do
You know it's late right now
And every song sings of us
I guess these singers know somehow
And my life they must discuss
But I left the pictures of you behind
Because I didn't want to dwell on you
But even the streets speak your name out here
And last night's movie too
The mountains now in the rearview
As the tired road creeps on and on and on
Perhaps I'll leave you in colorado
With this monday morning fog
But the pictures await me back home
And there the streets whisper, whisper your name
Escape it seems impossible sometimes
And I'm the one to blame
But I left the pictures of you behind
Because I didn't want to dwell on you
But even the streets speak your name out here
And last night's movie too
I tried leaving you behind
But you wouldn't stay
Thank God you didn't
With Lotsa Love,
TammyC
