TAM-MY-MUSIC, MY-LIFE

"A melody is like seeing someone for the first time, the physical attraction, sex...but then, as you get to know the person, that's the lyrics, they're story, who they are underneath. It's the combination of the two that makes it magic" - Sophie

I LOVE I LOVE THIS SONG

Time for a dose of country.
It's been a while since I write about Country music and *ta da* I have a new dude to introduce to all of you.

His name? - Marcel

He's dating? - Jessica Andrews, another one of my favourite country singer.

Anyway, it is not important but what is important is that he writes great songs for a lot of country artistes, such as well, Jessica Andrews, LeAnn Rimes to name just 2. lolx.

But as usual, many who write songs can actually sing. Well he doesn't have the best voice, according to some, his voice is unpolished and maybe that explains why he is struggling in the music industry.
But well, Marcel happens to have a song that I just enjoy singing along to. It's simple and fun, capturing the style and rhythms of traditional country but with the modern flavours of contemporary country.

I LOVE THIS SONG by Marcel
and that is not my self-expression, but rather the title of the song.

Woke up tappin my toes
Guitar comin thru the radio
Straight up out of my bed
I couldn't get it out of my head
I drove down highway 9
must of heard it 3 more times
Forget the words but i i got the jist

Yeaaaaahhhoooooo ooooo ooo
Turn it up turn it up
Come on come on

Sing along ramble amble amble amble ding dong
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
I love this song
Yeaaaaahhhoooooo ooooo ooo
Turn it up turn it up turn it up woooo

Yeaaaaahhhoooooo ooooo ooo
Turn it up turn it up
Come on come on
They're playin that song
You know the one that goes on and on and on

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
I love this song

I love this song
Yeaaaaahhhoooooo ooooo ooo

It's one fun song that you can just sing along one a gloomy day and it sorta like lived up your mood.

CHRISTMAS MUST BE SOMETHING MORE

If I have to choose my favourite Christmas song this year, (very difficult indeed), I think I'll say it's Taylor Swift's (yes I know I know, her again) "Christmas Must Be Something More".

I never really know the true meaning of Christmas.
Maybe I didn't really bother finding out because well, maybe because I thought I know. I guess to me, Christmas is a festival celebrated by the Christians, a holiday for us, a time where we spent with our loved ones, I do count my blessings on Christmas sometimes, and hang out with friends and get in the mood for jingle and bells.

But Taylor Swift wrote a beautiful song reminding all of us the true meaning of Christmas.
And now I know why Christians celebrate Christmas.
See how useful songs are ya..
I think this is a great Christmas song, a whole lot better than Lady Gaga's piece entitled "Christmas Tree". Well if you have not heard it, it could be a good thing.  I really don't know how one can write such sordid lyrics for such a holy festival. Oh well, some might insist that she's just creative haha. But imagine relating a Christmas tree with the upper body of a women and men as the present...ya that's what she's talking about...

Anyway back to brilliant lyricist like Taylor Swift hehe.
Enjoy this one.

What if ribbons and bows didn't mean a thing
Would the song still survive without five golden rings
Would you still wanna kiss without misletoe
What would happen if God never let it snow
What would happen if Christmas carols told a lie
Tell me what would you find

You'd see that today holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

What if angels did not pay attention to
All the things that we wished they would always do
What if happiness came in a cardboard box
Then I think there is something we all forgot
What would happen if presents all went away
Tell me what would you find

You'd see that today holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

We get so caught up in all of it
Business and relationships
Hundred mile an hour lives
And it's this time of year
And everybody's here
It seems the last thing on your mind

Is that the day holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to Jesus Christ who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
But here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something more

There's gotta be more
There's gotta be more

SLEIGHING ALONG CHRISTMAS SONGS

"Jingle bells, jingle bells..
Jingle bells rock..."

"Rudolph the red nose reindeer,
Has a really shiny nose..."

 It's Rudolph~!

Seriously, what is Christmas without Christmas songs or Christmas carols?
In fact, what is a festival without the cheers of melodies that hypes up the whole celebratory mood, right? I don't know about you but for me, there's nothing like the feeling of walking into the shopping complexes, with the beautiful lights accompanied by the sounds of Christmas, or the 'GongXi GongXi' of the Chinese New Year.

With Christmas just a few days away, I've got to share with you one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Christmas songs.
I remember when I was young (a hopeless romantic then, maybe I still secretly am ahem) I find "Silent Night" amazingly beautiful and soothing to the ears. It is definitely my favourite Christmas track of all times, though of course I've learned to enjoy other Christmas songs now that I'm all grown up.

But if I have to choose one song that I would best accompany me on a Christmas night, it has got to be the peaceful sounds of "Silent Night".

Even celebrities share the Christmas cheers.

We have David Archuleta who has came out with a Christmas album. We also have Andrea Bocelli with his own mesmerizing Christmas tracks. Then joining in are celebrities like Taylor Swift, Aly and AJ, Jessica Simpsons, Jesse McCartney among others.

Taylor Swift has her own version of "Silent Night". I love Taylor but in many ways I still am very much into the conventional version of 'Silent Night' because sometimes, the original Classics has always got the upper-hand of being the 'original'. Nevertheless, I find Taylor's version very creative, different and actually pretty good. Thus, it's definitely worth sharing.

The Christmas songs on my current playlist:
(In random orders)

1. Jingle Bells Rock - Aly & AJ
2. Joy to the World - David Archuleta
3. Melodies of Christmas - David Archuleta
4. The First Noel - Carrie Underwood
5. Last Christmas - Taylor Swift
6. Christmas Must Be Something More - Taylor Swift
7. If Jesus Came Back - Nicole Johnson
8. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree - Jesse McCartney

Some of my other favourites:
1. The Chipmunks singing "This Christmas Don't Be Late" & "12 Days of Christmas
2. N'Sync's Merry Christmas Happy Holidays
3. David Archuleta's Silent Night
4. The joyous rhythms of 'Feliz Navidad'

Well, I wish everyone a joyous and blessed Christmas~
May next year be another great year for everyone.

LONELY WITH SHANNON NOLL

If you do not know who Shannon Noll is, well let me ring a bell.

Remember the dude who sang "Shine"...the song that was once on our local airwaves, like maybe 5 years ago...

"This is the time, This is the day that we've been waiting for, All the world will stop to watch you shine"

If you still don't remember him, or maybe you've never actually came across his name, oh well, he is actually the runner-up of Australian Idol, the first season. He lost to Guy Sebastian, yes, the supposedly Malaysian but actually not considered Malaysian since he has been there since like a child. But as Malaysian, we love to take credit lar haha...so yes, now that he is Australian Idol, he is supposed to be a Malaysian.

Anak bangsa Malaysia
That's why I'm proud to be a Malaysian

But anyway, the song is about SHANNON NOLL, the runner-up.

I love Shannon Noll's songs too actually. I love 'Shine' and that day, while reminiscing his songs on YouTube, I came across this one entitled "Lonely" and I kinda fell in love with it.

This song was written to his wife who left him. Though I'm not married or *wood-touching* divorced, I don't know why I feel his pain in the song. I can actually feel his sadness of losing the person he loves...

It's a really sad song though I can't relate to it, but I really feel his grief. I can only imagine how it'll be like to have to end a marriage. Another reason I am so afraid of getting married or be in a relationship for that matter....dread the thought of having to lose someone really. Dread the hurt that I'll have to endure. You can feel on cloud nine when you're in love but I know that it's really gonna be pain if things doesn't work out. Many say that if you don't try you don't know...but seriously, there are enough problems in life lar. But I admit heart-breaks and break-ups serve as great inspirations for songs though haha. Look at Shannon Noll ya.

Anyway enjoy this one. Really nice~

Sittin' in a hotel miles from nowhere
Thought that this would be my happiness
I look at the phone and pick it up
For the millionth time I put It down again

I know I let you go
And Ive got no right to know

Do you ever get lonely, baby
Dont you ever get tired of living that way
Dont you ever wonder whether there a better
life out there
Do you ever think about what we had
And how you'd give anything to get it
back
Do you ever think you'll never love that
way again
Wondering if only
Do you ever get lonely

I look around the room and wonder
When it was and how my life has changed
Im surrounded by a million so - called
friends
And I dont even know their names, oh no

When all of you love is gone
And you feel like you dont belong
Oh tell me

I know that this world has changed us
Now were nothing more than strangers
But do you think about me ever
Do you think we belong together

Do you ever miss me
Wishing you could kiss me
If only you could hold me
Do you ever get lonely like me

FIREFLYING WITH OWL CITY

The beginning of this song is super cool~
The techno-melodic sounds accompanied by the "tings" of what sounded like a 'triangle'  mesmerizes me everytime I listen to it.
It's like the rhythm teleports me through the tiny, blurring lights of the city. I love that feeling. It's like I'm outta this world, which is cool sometimes since there are times where you are desperately in search of that way out.

If I have to choose one word to describe this song, I'd go for 'innocence'.
I was on YouTube watching this video and there's a comment that brilliantly describe this song.

iluvmytwilight
i think it is that way (with the toys and what not) because the song is about being a kid. you know, watching fireflies and capturing them in a jar. and thinking that the world turns slowly when ur a kid. and falling asleep when ur a kid. counting sheep, keeping ur door open, wanting to be awake. that's my take on what it means.

You would not believe your eyes,
If ten million fireflies,
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I'll just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say, that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance

A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
A disco ball is just hanging by a thread

Leave my door open just a crack
(Please take me away from here)
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac

(Please take me away from here)
Why do I tire of counting sheep?
(Please take me away from here)
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep

To ten million fireflies,
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they say farewell

But I know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar

This song successfully captures such a simple theme of childhood innocence in such beautiful rhythm.

I agree with iluvmytwilight's interpretation in many ways:
The song is the lyricist expression of his innocence as a child...I'd say that he's in a dream where he enjoy the company of his ten thousand lightning bugs - the fireflies.

He reminisces his days as a child, mesmerized and staring at the wonders of the world. I don't know if you realized but children would just stand and stare at things for the longest time; it's like they are amazed and trying to figure out how things work. As adult, we are always doing things hurriedly, not savouring the moments and not taking the time to enjoy the simple things in life, well, for example checking out fireflies.

Children let their imagination run wild. I guess that's why our lyricist penned that the fireflies thought him how to dance. If seen from an adult's point of view, they are just flying...what do you mean dancing?

As a child, our planet seems to turn slowly...time moves slowly and we take our time to enjoy the things that surrounds us. As adults, we are caught in the fast pace of life. We rush through things because we want more time.

I also remember as a kid, I always have problems sleeping too. Erm, maybe we are too excited about the adventures that awaits us. I guess in many ways we feel that there's so much more that can be done when we are awake that even when we are asleep, we can't get our brains off the adventures and the things that surrounds us. To me, I guess this song describes the author in his half sleeping mode - you know, when he's not completely sleeping and he's in his dreamy world.

The video clip itself is brilliant.
Simple but again capturing the theme of the song. Just by editing the montages of the various toys that surrounds the room, adding with it the dark room effects, the artiste manage to enhance the meaning of the song and brings us back childhood memories and the innocence that comes with it. Some of the toys featured in the video, I even have haha. Well, it shows again that we don't need super cool effects to create a super cool video.

Enjoy

ps: Thanks to King Kong who pointed out this song to me when we were at the shopping mall.

A 21 GUN SALUTE TO GREEN DAY'S 21 GUNS

21 Guns by Greenday

It's a song I fell in love with the first time I heard it on radio. But I didn't know who sang it though they sounded kinda familiar. Ya I know, I know. How can I not know it's Greenday right? At first I thought it was entitled "Built to Last". My God! haha...

Anyway, this is actually one really meaningful song.
Greenday and in fact, Good Charlotte and Simple Plan are bands that right good lyrics about the soul.

I actually don't really get the lyrics at first. In my mind, I'm feeling that the song is about war and peace that sort of thing. Something like Good Charlotte's 'We Believe', but then I wasn't really sure. So I went online to confirm my interpretation of the song. Well actually, I don't have to because lyrical expressions are subjective but then again, I just want to know what others' take on this song is.

There are apparently a few different interpretations on this song. Well, I'm just going to share mine. Basically, there are 2 ways to interpret it - through the eyes of a depressed soul or through the eyes of a soldier at war.

Do you know what's worth fighting for?
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?

I've watched a lot of war movies and though they are all about ammos and guns and action and killings of people, most of these movies carry one theme - the sanity in war; what's right and wrong in war.

The first verse of 21 Guns opens with a soul-searching question. Do you know what is worth-while doing in your life? I mean, you don't even need to relate it to war. Life in general. Is what you are doing everyday worth doing? In the end, what are we living for? Sometimes, when you question something you do in life, especially on your own actions and what's right and wrong, it becomes painful and a suffocating experience. It's like you just get so tired you don't want to go through with it anymore. You don't know if what you are doing is right or not. I've been through that feeling...it was not a great feeling at all. It spins me dizzy thinking about life. But I can't not think about it.

But with war, it becomes an even more surreal question. Because you are risking your life and also taking some other people's life. Everything you do, every step you take is a decision that comes with major consequences. I think the lyrics follow the story of a soldier going through a war. At first, you feel alive because your out  for a mission to fight for your country. But I guess once you go through the war process and have seen the number of deaths surrounding you everyday, you'll really question the sanity of war and whether it's worth doing the things you do. Like killing other soldiers. What makes them deserve to die more than you do? They are also protecting their country like you are. They also are fighting for their lives, just like you. War is never ending....

Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You're in ruins

In life there are good and bad times. Sadly, most of the times the bad (pain) outweighs the good...And, you just want to run away and hide. Then there's the heartbreaking experiences. When you've been hurt by people...sad sad sad...I realized that we tend to remember the saddest times in our lives more than the happy times. Why is that? I also don't know.

I guess for a soldier, that moment of glory or pride you have in winning a particular battle is a short-lived moment before the pain sinks in again. What's worth celebrating becomes something that is not anymore because people are still dying around you and you continue guessing when will your clock stop ticking. You win one battle but you'd start thinking about the next and the fate that awaits you.

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

According to someone on the Net, "The 21 gun salute is the highest honor one can receive upon burial, usually in a military context."

Well that makes a lot of sense. The chorus asked us to start laying down our arms - STOP WAR! I mean, we can pay our respect to all the soldiers who died fighting, but seriously, is the war worth dying for? Can we make their sacrifice worthy? If they die and the war end, at least we can say that their sacrifices had made a change. But seriously, so many soldiers killed and the war still goes on. We owe these soldiers too much because they really die in vain - for nothing. In BM - "mati katak".

Throw your arms into the sky - surrender to love and give up war! I think I can only imagine the cruelty of war. I think the pictures and video clips showing the victims are nothing if compared to the harsh reality of being a war victim. We see the famine, the people crying and bombed...then what? I admit...I'm not even doing anything about it. It's sad but really...I don't know what to do. People are always selfish and I'm selfish. But songs like this makes us ponder things and maybe get someone to start doing something about war.

For a person who is depressed, I think the chorus is really telling the person to let go of the sad things and start again in life. Surrender to love and to the positive things in life. I mean I guess there are depressing times but really, we have to learn to move on again. It's hard but it has to be done.

When you're at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Recently, I was going through a tough period in life where I felt that I suddenly lost direction in life because I just don't know what I want to do with my life anymore. I set goals but suddenly I felt that these goals are unreachable. This verse described aptly my feelings at that period. Though I realized that my problem isn't really that big (though for me, it was) if compared to others who are having even worst problems than me, I really felt like I had no control over my life and I was thinking about what I'm doing, about life and the decisions that I have to make...my God. It was really terrible. I feel that I'm so wrong and I feel so useless....and in someways I really lost my spirit and motivation to move on and do things. Yes, and it feels like things won't get better at all and you really feel like giving up. No better words can describe how I feel than this verse here.

I guess for a soldier at war, they will feel this feeling almost every single day of their lives but yet they still have to go on. I bet many of them feel like dying and just giving up because honestly, how can you actually feel good about war and killing?

For me, it was 2 months of sorrow and I'm glad now that I do see a bit of hope. A bit...lolx. I'm happy that things have taken a turn for me. I can choose a different path and follow my dreams. I don't know if it is that easy for a soldier at war.

Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last
You're in ruins

Usually, when you are feeling so low, you lose hope - you lose faith. You don't believe in the positive anymore. You feel that the worst will never end - the hangover doesn't pass. The feeling of suffocation, sorrow seems to be there and not releasing you. For some, you might turn to drugs or alcohol - to give you that boost, to get yourself feeling 'high', to for a moment, get away from the problems. But before you know it, you're in too deep. Seriously, drugs & alcohol - not a solution.

Like the song say. Nothing's ever built to last. (Well except the Great Wall of China?) Problems and sadness are all temporary. Even happiness is temporary. Nothing is forever. That's the sad  truth, but it's also a good thing. Things are constantly evolving and I truly believe that we only have certain dark days before we are greeted by sunshine again. Sometimes it might be a long wait, but well, I guess I try to choose to believe that nothing is permanent. I guess most of the times, that's really what pulls me through. This is also one advice my dad gave me.

Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire
Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone?

When it's time to live and let die
And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You're in ruins

I'm a bit clueless about this verse but I'm guessing that it means that sometimes, you just want to be alone and get away from everything by destroying everything that's now around you. It's like, when you're alone, you don't need to thing about so many things - like the consequences of your actions on others, like how you'd hurt others etc. Then you realized the mistakes that you've done, the people you've hurt after thinking through things. You beg for forgiveness but it could be too late.

Then I read a comment from someone else. The writer interprets the soldier burning down someone else's home. Then standing close to the fire, made him guilty and he begs for forgiveness for doing the murder. Once you kill, you'll never be clean. You don't get another try; you can't redeem yourself once you killed someone. It's etched in your blood. That's when guilt overcome you and you die inside of you. You just can't live with the guilt or you try to live with the guilt. 'Guilt' - one of the hardest thing to live with. Seriously, if you can't go through it, it's like you're soulless. A living zombie.

Well, nice song with really deep and meaningful lyrics.
I admire people who write songs like these. Brilliant!
Greenday - though I don't like like ALL their songs but I really think some of their songs have fantastic lyrics.
Well another heart-felt song that I recommend!

PITTING THE BULL REMINDS ME OF IPOH

Okay lar..
Maybe I should stop being so analytical about music lyrics all the time. There are some songs out there that are just for fun and well, in terms of content...zilch! Okay..maybe not zilch. Maybe just not relevant and not emotionally touching and meaningful.

But songs do bring back memories. Some of them bring you back to one particular experience or one particular place.

When I listen to PitBull's song, I go back to my outing with my friends in Ipoh. I don't know why but maybe because the radio kept playing his songs. I'm actually kinda sick of them now but at that time, I really love the beat of the songs.

Basically both songs share practically the same tempo, rhythm and beat.
Very suitable for disco/clubs I might add. If you listen to this track at anytime or anywhere, I believe that you will naturally sway to the rhythm.

PitBull - Hotel Room Service & I Know You Want Me

HOTEL ROOM

I want everybody to stop what they're doing. Now if you know you're with somebody you're gonna take the hotel room tonight, make some noise...
Meet me at the hotel room [x4]

IT'S YOUR TIME TO GO

Track number 11 on the album "Love Drunk".

#11
My number - my song.
When I heard my sister singing this track "Get up and go, go ahead and be strong, or you can spend your whole life holding on" - I fell in love with the song (not her singing mind you).

Beautiful melody that accompanies such meaningful lyrics. Another perfect 'hit' casted by Boys Like Girls.

Boys Like Girls - Go

A little change of the heart
A little light in the dark
A little hope that you just might find your way up out of here
'Cause you've been hiding for days
Wasted and wasting away
But I got a little hope today you'll face your fears

Yeah, I know it's not easy, I know that it's hard
Follow the lights to the city

[Chorus]:
Get up and go
Take a chance and be strong
Or you could spend whole life holding on
Don't look back, just go
Take a breath, move along
Or you could spend your whole life holding on
You could spend your whole life holding on

Believe the tunnel can end
Believe your body can mend
Yeah, I know you can make it through
'Cause I believe in you
So let's go put up a fight
Let's go make everything alright
Go on and take a shot, go give it all you got

Oh yeah, I know it's not easy
I know that it's hard
No, it's not always pretty

[Chorus]

Don't wanna wake up to the telephone ring
"Are you sitting down? I need to tell you something."
Enough is enough, you can stop waiting to breathe
And don't wait up for me

[ChorusX2]

Don't you spend your whole life holding on, yeah

Face your fears, be strong and take action. That's basically the core message of the song. Keeps me going really. I mean many many times I find myself procrastinating and finding excuse to really not do anything. Sometimes, songs like these really get you going. It's like a kick in the you-know-where. Makes you wake up and start rolling.

I'm really beginning to really dig Boys Like Girl's songs. Their acoustic versions are brilliant as well. This is what I'm talking about man! Bands like Boys Like Girls really rock...literally.

So before I go, I leave you with Boys Like Girls "Go".

LEARNING TO CLIMB

Too many songs I want to share.
I've been bombarded with a few good songs lately I don't know which one to write about first.

I've settle with this one (I don't know why) but though I really kind of despise Miley Cyrus, I actually really like this song AND this song I can relate to at this exact moment.

"Life's a climb, but the view is great"
- One of my favourite quote from the movie. Of course! It's an advice by the hot dude, Travis (Lucas Teel) in the movie.

I can almost see,
That dream I'm dreaming,
But there's a voice inside my head saying,
'You'll never reach it'

Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels,
Lost with no directions,
My faith is shaking

Chasing something that I believe in but slowly and gradually forgetting what it means to believe in dreams. Every step I'm taking and every move I make really feels lost with no directions.

But this was how I felt 2 months back - my past that I'd want to put behind me.

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The mountain is metaphorically representing problems. We ALWAYS want to avoid problem or push them away (make it move)...But it's not about avoiding the problems but rather facing them and wading our way through the uphill battle. I guess indirectly, I'm choosing to avoid problems to. I want the fast way out all the time. I want to get to my dream destination as soon as possible. I think in some ways, I neglected the climb. I failed to enjoy the journey to my destination. I guess that's something I am still learning to do.

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

I guess we face challenge in every single day. I realize now I wish that I don't have to struggle that much. I wish now that I don't have any problems to think about at all. I wish I had a free mind....but life ain't about that. It's about being strong and going on...So I still have to keep on climbing the climb and look out for the view =).

I don't understand how such a tacky movie (Hannah Montana) can have songs that meaningful as soundtrack.  Sorry very subjective opinion included but seriously...

Thank God for a good meaningful song. Enjoy~

Climbing the climb,
Hanging on to faith,
Facing problems,
Embracing the future with a brand new and hopefully GENUINE SMILE~

I'M A DREAMER

DREAMER - Bethany Dillon

This song is beautiful, I don't know why I just like the chorus.
The melody is also very nice.

I bet many of you don't know Bethany Dillon. I stumble upon her while soul-searching for songs with good lyrics. Bethany Dillon is actually a Christian-country singer and some of her songs are really really good too.

I think you can relate this song to God and to faith and to believing in your own dreams. It's about working towards making your dreams come true.

That's why I love the song.
The title says it all...I am a DREAMER.

Love woke me up this morning
With a memory
Love came and whispered a story
That awakened a dream

Imagine a beautiful castle
And a beautiful king
He left the comfort of his throne
To fight for victory

I am a dreamer
Take me higher
Open the sky up
Start a fire
I believe
Even if it's just a dream

I always dream, that's for sure. I'm an idealist, too idealistic sometimes. I derive happiness from something non-existence - dreams, idealistic fantasies that might not be true. But then again, dare to dream they say. Because sometimes, dreams are what keep you moving on. Because sometimes, when you have faith, your dreams do come true. And that is what I keep believing.

I was really down for the past few weeks and I find that it is because I've somehow started losing faith. I was doubting life and doubting myself. I stop believing in hope. Never give up hope they say, but I guess I'm starting to belief again. I've learned that sometimes, when we are down, we just need time to get back up and start believing again.

Love woke me up this morning
And I ran to see
The king in the winners' circle
On the horse he won for me

Only a king would do anything
To protect the kingdom
Only a king would do anything
To protect the kingdom
Only a king would do anything
To protect the kingdom

Apparently this song is off the Soundtrack of the movie with the same  title "Dreamer", which is a true story about horses. Very country-flick ya.

The movie stars Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning. I've yet to watch it but the brilliant casts and the all thumbs and toes up movie reviews on the movie really gave a great tug. I think I'm going to try find this movie haha. I bet it is super inspiring. Not as glorious as "Seabiscuit" they say, but I always believe that movie doesn't have to be like a super duper production to be good. I find some of the greatest movies to be those low-budgeted and simple films that reach out deep into your heart and soul. That's what I call a great movie. Example? "The Kite Runner."

Again, check this video out. I love the country thing going on in the video. Simple but really nice to the ears. I can't help but get so into these country things haha. Enjoy~

Love,
Tammy
