TAM-MY-MUSIC, MY-LIFE

"A melody is like seeing someone for the first time, the physical attraction, sex...but then, as you get to know the person, that's the lyrics, they're story, who they are underneath. It's the combination of the two that makes it magic" - Sophie

DREAM BEFORE YOU REACH YOUR DREAMS

Nicole Johnson is a 14-year-old that is probably unheard of.
To me, all she need is a big break, someone to give her a chance to shine and do some good music.

She has recorded 2 songs, again, probably unheard of but both songs are beautiful songs that I feel need to be credited.

This one I'm introducing is especially meaningful and I wonder why it isn't as popular as I hope it would be. Perhaps lack of deserved publicity?

It's a country song and thus it won't really get much coverage in the local scene. In Malaysia, only huge country stars like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood and maybe Shania Twain get some attention. Others are mostly shoved off. In fact, much to my dismay, the local radio stations blends the country sounds with the echoes of commercialized pop-rock (for example, Taylor's "Teardrops on my Guitar" and "Love Story"). I mean, come on!! You're destroying the melodies I actually love and replacing it with noise. No offense, but if you want pop-rock, play Simple Plan or something.

Dream by Nicole Johnson

This song is about standing up when you fall.
It's about trying and not giving up.
It's about reaching for the stars.
It's about the courage to fail and learn.
It's about staying strong and hanging in there.
And most of all, it's about being able to dream because you can do anything if you're not afraid to dream...Only dreams can take us beyond our limitations and if we leap, we might just be able to reach it.

Little girl in the backyard tree says
I can fly mom, look at me
and the takes a leap
'cause she believes
A second later she's on the ground
With two skinned knees and a teary frown

And she wipes her eyes

And says,

I guess that I'm not wonder woman after all
'cause she'd never falls
And her mama says
Fly...

Face into the wind
Feel...

The sun against your skin
Rise above the mountains that get in your way
Be careful but be brave
You can do anything
if you're not afraid to dream!

A young woman stays on the stage
Of Juilliard school of ballet
And she's got the chance, to finally dance
With butterflies and quicken breath

She's confident and not scared of death
Soon she strainghtens her wings
Closes her eyes and takes down deep inside herself
And she tells herself

Just remember to
Fly...

Face into the wind
Feel...

The sun against your skin
Rise above the mountains that get in your way
Be careful but be brave
You can do anything
If you're not afraid to dream

A new mother starts to cry
Cause' the doctor say the baby's weigh too small,
She'll need a miracle
To get through it all...

And her mama prays
Fly...

Face into the wind
Feel...

The sun against your skin
Rise above the mountains that get in your way
Be careful but be brave
You can do anything
If you're not afraid to dream!

Little girl in the backyard tree says
I can fly mom, look at me!

This is one inspirational song that you can share with a friend or someone that is going through a tough patch in life.
Enjoy~
