"A melody is like seeing someone for the first time, the physical attraction, sex...but then, as you get to know the person, that's the lyrics, they're story, who they are underneath. It's the combination of the two that makes it magic" - Sophie

I GOTTA FEELING IS A LIVERPOOL FEELING

The electronic opening of Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" reminds me of our Graduation Ball in Liverpool.

After dinner, the DJ spun this track and the familiar sounds of BEP blasted the hall.
I think this song aptly define the mood that night...

"I gotta feeling...
That tonight's gonna be a good night,
That tonight's gonna be a good night,

That tonight's gonna be a good good night..."

I mean, I'd say that night (1st September 2009) was bittersweet.
On one hand, we're happy that we've completed our 15 assessments in just 3 months. All our hard work, crushing of brain juice and 'sweat' (our hands do sweat sometimes due to too much typing), we've finally made it through the 3 months worth of scholarly torture.

Funny now that I'm looking back, those are actually the best moments of my life.

On the other hand, we're really sad because we know that our Liverpoolian journey together is coming to an end. Our hearts were swollen because we know that we won't have a chance experience this again. We enjoy each others' company so much. We've all striven together as a group of coursemates or a better term, friends. We've went through the toughest times together; we've practically shed the same tears and shared the same sweetness of success. The treasure I brought home from Liverpool is the meaning of true friendship, and not really the degree.

Anyway, now whenever I hear this song by BEP, my mind floats to the scene that night:

Everyone dressed in their beautiful  gowns, looking gorgeous...
Everyone with their cameras, busy taking pics with everyone....

All the single ladies..All the single ladies
Okay lar...not all are single LOL

I regretted not taking enough pictures that night really. My memory of that night was pretty quite vague actually; it's kinda like dreamy and kinda like an event that just flashed by. I guess it was mainly because I was blurred by the fact that we've not have enough of rest the previous night, busying ourselves with last minute study for the exams before the ball and also the fact that things are happening too rapidly.

The most avid memory of the ball was when "I Gotta Feeling" was played. I guess it really lifted up the mood of the whole ball. Everyone was suddenly dancing at the dance floor, below the shimmering of the disco lights. I didn't do much dancing haha. I was basically wading through the sea of people, searching for my friends so that we can move on to our next activity, night-walking and sight-seeing =).

Anyway, here it is ...
To relive my memory of the Liverpool Ball we had about 2 months back.

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

Tonight's the night, let's live it up
I got my money, let's spend it up
Go out and smash it like oh my God
Jump off that sofa, let's get, get off

I know that we'll have a ball
If we get down and go out and just lose it all
I feel stressed out, I wanna let it go
Let's go way out spaced out and losing all control

Fill up my cup, mozoltov
Look at her dancing, just take it off
Let's paint the town, we'll shut it down
Let's burn the roof, and then we'll do it again

Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it, let's do it
And do it and do it, let's live it up
And do it and do it and do it, do it, do it
Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it

'Cause I gotta feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

Tonight's the night
(Hey!)
Let's live it up
(Let's live it up)
I got my money
(My pay)
Let's spend it up
(Let's spend it up)

Go out and smash it
(Smash it)
Like oh my God
(Like oh my God)
Jump off that sofa
(Come on!)
Let's get, get off

Fill up my cup
(Drink)
Mozoltov
(Lahyme)
Look at her dancing
(Move it, move it)
Just take it off

Let's paint the town
(Paint the town)
We'll shut it down
(Let's shut it down)
Let's burn the roof
And then we'll do it again

Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it, let's do it
And do it and do it, let's live it up
And do it and do it and do it, do it, do it
Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it, do it, do it, do it

Here we come, here we go, we gotta rock
(Rock rock rock rock rock)
Easy come, easy go, now we on top
(Top top top top top)
Feel the shot, body rock, rock it, don't stop
(Stop stop stop stop stop)
Round and round, up and down, around the clock
(Rock rock rock rock rock)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
(Do it!)
Friday, Saturday, Saturday to Sunday
(Do it!)
Get, get, get, get, get with us, you know what we say, say
Party every day, p-p-p-party every day
